Addressing the august gathering of eminent authors, thinkers, poets and journalists of Uttarakhand, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while congratulating all the award recipients said that the community or society which does not respect its dialects and culture, automatically loses its credibility and prestige.

The regional litterateurs actually enhance the honour of our regional dialects by their literary writings said chief minister Dhami.

Praising the literary icons of the country and state chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that they have played a very pivotal role in propagating Hindi language on the global scenario.

He said that what is most important and relevant here to say is that while preserving and promoting the national language Hindi on the global platform our literary personalities have not propagated this language at the cost of other languages or dialect.

Hence today apart from Hindi – all other regional languages are also being propagated adequately and in the new education policy the children have been given facility to learn in Hindi language.

He said that in Uttarakhand alongwith our national language Hindi, our regional languages Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari are also gaining momentum but Uttarakhand has a special affinity with out national language said CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Emphasising the need for the participation of common people for extensively propagating the regional languages chief minister Dhami said that he is happy to note that majority of the litterateurs honoured today have played a vital role through their significant writings in preserving and promoting our regional dialects in and outside Uttarakhand.

He lauded their efforts to make their own children learn the regional dialects. He also said that today the medium of engineering and biological studies ( science) has been facilitated in Hindi which is a welcome decision of the government as few years ago those not well versed in English had to confront with lot of impediments while pursuing their education in Science subjects in English medium.

Prominent among those present on this occasion were cabinet minister Subhodh Uniyal, MLA Khajan Dass, former GDP Anil Raturi, former vice chancellor of Hindi Vardha University professor Dr. Girivar Mishra, MLA Mohan Bisht, MLA Pramod Nainwal, secretary Vinod Prasad Raturi, Director, IAS Swati S Bhadoria and others.
