Massive fire in New Rishikesh bus station though doused after tremendous efforts

A massive fire occured at the New Bus Station at Rishikesh on Tuesday while one of the buses was being repaired. The fire that initially started in a bus being repaired rapidly spread and several other buses caught fire damaging them completely with unaccounted steam coming out of the bus stand.

The passers by shot videos and posted in social media that went viral and people panicked badly. According to the latest news though there had been no human loss but lot of buses were damaged including vehicles at the new bus station due to the fire spreading badly. The fire department officials who reached the spot with fire tenders though late as reported in one of the tweets controlled the fire after tremendous efforts.

It is believed that the root cause of the fire was sparks developing in a bus which was being repaired at the bus station. The fire gradually spread and it took a massive proportion engulfing and destroying several other buses stationed there. Since there was delay in the fire tenders reaching the spot due to immense traffic congestion, the fire spread rapidly creating panic in the vicinity with people running helter and skelter and firefighters controlling it after lot of efforts.

A tweet by Rishikesh Writings said : Private bus caught fire in new bus station in Rishikesh in which buses were completely burnt, as the fire service reached on the spot late due to traffic congestion.
