A woman in Chinyalisaud killed by man eater and a 7 year old girl grievously injured at Gangolighat
A woman and a child has again become prey to maneaters in Garhwal and Kumain divisions during the last three days. While a woman was brutally killed by a dreaded man eater at Chinyalisaud Garhwal – a seven year girl was dragged and brutally injured by a leopard man eater in Jakhni Upreti village of Gangolighat area in Kumaon division. According to reports a seven year old girl child was posted upon by the man eater about hundred metres away from her house when the villagers came to know of it and shouted repeatedly out of fear. The man eater got panicked and left the seven year old girl injuring her grievously. Upreti Gaon is, situated ten kilometres away from Gangolighat Tehssil where the grievously injured child is being treated at CHC. The badly furious, angered and panicked villagers has protested demanding caging of the man eater and if possible killing him. Earlier two days go a four year old infant had died after a man eater leopard attacked her while she was playing with three other children at her house’s precincts. This incident happened at Dehradun’ s Shankarpur area. The predator dragged the girl several metres away exclusively targeting her after attacking her three months ago, too. This unique feature of targeting a child for the second time by a maneater was witnessed only once several decades ago by a man eater mentioned in the book authored by famous man eater killer and a professional hunter Jim Corbett in his famous book ” MANEATERS OF RUDRAPRAYAG”.
