TRIBUTES PAID TO EMINENT WOMAN ACTIVIST OF Separate UTTARAKHAND STATE SUSHILA BALUNI WHO IS NO MORE !

A veteran separate Uttarakhand movement activist and leader who dedicated major part of her life to secure separate Uttarakhand state Mrs Susheela BALUNI has died today sending shock waves all around in Uttarakhand and elsewhere with Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paying his deepest condolences on the sad demise of a great women leader, a separate key Uttarakhand activist and former chairperson of Uttarakhand Women Commission Sushila Baluni saying that her immeasurable contribution to the separate Uttarakhand movement that finally led to achieving separate state would always be remembered.

The lawmaker from Tehri, Garhwal, Uttarakhand Kishore Upadhyay and, Uttarakhand Congress Vice President Dhirendra Pratap too paid their heartfelt tributes and deepest condolences terming her death as an end of an era.

Smt. Sushila Baluni died after prolonged illness. Terming this day as the most sorrowful day in Uttarakhand’s history Dhirendra Pratap and Sunil Negi, President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum said that Mrs Baluni has a chequered socio political career and her immense contribution as a movement activist of Separate state who was hit by police lathis during movement days with imprisonment will be etched in golden letters in the history of Uttarakhand.

Mr. Dhirendra Pratap and Sunil Negi have demanded putting up her statue at Gairsain and Dehradun assembly precincts in order to pay true reverence to a great woman fighter and activist who dedicated her entire life for achieving separate Uttarakhand state.

Her statue will inspire thousands of youths and our daughters to work for the betterment and development of Uttarakhand inculcating in them energy from this great woman’s actions and ideals due to whom we are today progressing in a new state said Pratap and Negi.

Mrs BALUNI was a dashing and energetic woman activist who encouraged and mobilised thousands of women and youths towards the movement and relentlessly worked hard to keep on the flame of the movement intact by her relentless struggle for years together.

Senior advocate and one of the leading activist during separate Uttarakhand movement having represented the state’s cause and cases in Allahabad high court with immense dexterity against the then CM Mulayam Singh Yadav and those responsible for the obnoxious, treacherous and deadly Mujaffarnagar tragedy S. K. Sharma while expressing his condolences on the sad demise of SUSHILA Baluniji said that he is badly perturbed on hearing this sad news.

We have been together in several Dharnas and demonstrations during nineties to seek separate statehood but am extremely sorry to say that the ethics, values and the perception with which Susheelaji, me and thousands of activists relentlessly struggled to achieve Uttarakhand , the vision less, opportunist, immature and corrupt politicians of the state have crushed those sentiments under their feet so cruelly. Now, it is convincingly felt that the sacrifice of our activists has gone waste despite supreme sacrifice by 43 activists during the movement. While, the corrupt politicians have earned tremendously after the state is formed I warn them to amend themselves lest Lord Badrinath will never pardon them.

While paying his heartfelt tributes and deepest condolences senior advocate n leader S. K. Sharma prayed to Almighty for rendering peace to the departed soul and giving immense courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
