As elections come near Uniform Civil Code becomes the main plank to please voters. PM ADDRESSED A MASSIVE RALLY AT HOSAPETE !

As the elections of Karnataka Assembly are nearing, just eight days ahead – with voting to take place on 10 th May and counting on 13 th, the ruling ” Bhartiya Janata Party “, has yesterday released its populist manifesto not only assuring of five kg of Millet in Ration every month, half litre milk daily and three gas cylinders free of cost to the BPL families apart from several other concessions – it has not forgotten to raise its vote catching issues of implementing Uniform Civil Code and commencing a National Citizens Register to oust the outsiders ( illegal immigrants) from the state who are encroaching upon the rights and share of the genuine state citizens.

The national chief of the Bhartiya Janata Party J. P. Nadda along with the state BJP chief and former CM Yedurappa released the populist manifesto with lot of pomp and show with prime minister Narendra Modi lauding it to the fullest terming it as a development centric manifesto that sets the tone for building in good work done by the previous BJP government during the last four years.

The way saffron party and its former state CM Yedurappa and national chief J. P. Nadda has made populist announcement saying that if they come to power they will do the needful as announced ( freebies) for the BPL sections making it abundantly clear that it could not do so while it was in power during the last four years. It is in a way accepting the guilt of incompetence. This itself is acceptance of its massive defeat say its opponents.

A party believing in saffronisation and polarising of votes through religion and majoritarianism always raises issues like Uniform Civil Code and NRC when elections are round the corner as done during the elections of Gujarat and Uttarakhand, but after it comes to power through such cheap tactics it forgets to fulfil its pre poll promises especially UCC and NRC giving a clear cut impression that it keeps such issues intact to misguide the electorates to bag votes in the name of majoritarianism said a senior Congress leader requesting anonymity. The BJP manifesto states that we will implement the Uniform Civil Code in Karnataka based on the recommendations given by a high powered committee which will be constituted for this very purpose. The UCC will enable replacement of laws and texts of traditions in order to set common laws for religion, marriages, divorce, property related matters, succession, adoption n guardianship etc.

But all know the real motive behind the implementation of UCC which is primarily to counter the appeasement politics of non BJP opposition towards the minorities and to make the majority community happy thus trying to allegedly beget their votes say the anti BJP party leaders especially Congress.

It may be recalled that during the Gujarat and Uttarakhand Assembly elections the issue of Uniform Civil Code was raised at the nick of the time before voting and several top national leaders raised it in various largely attended public meetings winning in both the states hands down, but after it came to power the meetings on UCC though going on in instalments have taken a feeble speed.

However, the issue of illegal Majaars being constructed in different parts of Uttarakhand especially in forest lands are being located and damaged duty welcomed by cross section of the people as these religious structures built by a particular community are not only illegal but in certain cases found to be fake just to capture forest and government lands establish their hegemony. However, the Congress terms it as an election issue and nothing else.

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has been very particular on repeatedly assuring to implement the UCC issue as well as the Concrete Land Act of Uttarakhand in the state, by all means.

However, nothing concrete has come out in terms of these two pre poll assurances till date, despite the saffron party winning the state assembly election with a good majority for the second time, breaking the myth of the lady 22 years that the tuling party never repeats for the second time in Uttarakhand.

Now, while BJP has again taken the support of the Uniform Civil Code n NRC to be implemented in Karnataka in case it wins for the second time – the Congress party leaders have catagorically accused BJP and its leaders for failing on all fronts while ruling during the last four years.

The former Karnataka chief minister Sidharamaiah said the failing BJP should have presented its report card first. Accusing BJP leaders and the state government for total incompetence and opportunism Sidharamaiah tweeted that BJP Karnataka, should release their report card before their own manifesto. BJP leaders, have no regard for promises they made. They have not fulfilled more their 90% of their promises. BJP means betrayers tweeted the senior Congress leader.

Meanwhile in Hosapete , Karnataka prime minister Narendra Modified’s rally was massive with thousands of attendees waving the prime minister welcoming him and chanting with him Vande Matram and Bharat Mata ki jai. PM Modi tweeted with his video addressing the crow Retweeted by JP Nadda. PM tweeted : Euphoric atmosphere at Hosapete. Addressing a huge rally tweeted PM Narendra Modi
