More than three hundred sheeps, goats and their kids die of lightening leading to massive loss of Rs. 28 lakhs in Uttarkashi

There is an extremely tragic news as about three hundred n even more sheeps, goats n their kids have died due to the lightening in Uttarkashi, Garhwal, Uttarakhand the other day due to extremely inclement weather. According to the latest news about three hundred sheeps and goats and over fifty baby goats while coming from Rishikesh to Uttarkashi met with the tragedy near Kathu, Khal village, under Tehsil Dunda, district Uttarkashi due to the extremely inclement weather that resulted in dreaded lightening. These goats, sheeps were owned by Sanjeev Rawat of village Barsu, Garhwal. The staff and officials of animal husbandry department n district administration reached the spot for providing relief and assessing the tragedy there after. This loss approximately has been assessed to Rs. 28 lakhs as each goat costs Rs 8000 . This heart rendering tragedy of over 350 sheeps, goats and their kids is a huge loss to the owner Sanjeev Rawat. The state government should compensate Rawat for this heavy loss.
