LEGENDARY ACTOR, PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR RAJ KAPOOR’S CHEMBUR BUNGALOW SOLD FOR RS 100 CRORES

The more than five decades old fascinating sprawling Bunglow owned by prestigious Dada Saheb Falke awardee and legend of Indian Cinema Raj Kapoor has been sold to the Godrej properties for Rs 100 crores in white. This sale of the Bungalow of legendary Raj Kapoor reminiscences of the sale of another Bungalow of first super star Rajesh Khanna known as ASHIRVAAD after his death by his family to one builder Shetty for Rs. 90 crores where too a multi storeyed building has come into existence dashing hopes of the first late superstar of Bollywood who wanted it to be converted into a museum. Now there will be a multi storey building where residential flats will be sold by the Godrej property owners. Situated at Chamber Devanhaar precincts the marriages of all sons have been solemnised here viz Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor. The marriage of Randhir Kapoor’s elder daughter Karishma Kapoor with Ravi Kapoor an industrialist from Delhi Vasant Vihar was also solemnised here. Earlier elder brother among Raj Kapoor sons Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor used to live here but after the sudden death of younger brother, Randhir left this home and started living with his estranged wife Babita Kapoor. Speaking to media Randhir Kapoor became emotional saying that there was a time when this house was full of CHAHALKADMI when all the brothers and Raj Kapoor’s grand sons n grand daughters lived here. Earlier, the magnificent R. K. Studio too was sold vanishing all the memories of the legendary actor. The studio had once caught fire and the building was in rubble leading to heavy losses. The RK family, especially Randhir Kapoor , the only alive elder son was looking for a prospective buyer since long and the deal finally materialised with Godrej properties, finally. Rs 100 crore that the family got from the sale of this Bungalow of late Raj Kapoor will be distributed among the family members equally says the news report.
