Two children aged 12 and 8 got drowned in Alaknanda river, no trace till yet. Intensive search operation still on !

There is an extremely shocking news pouring in about two adolescents out of total four playing near the Alaknanda bank at Devprayag who mistakably got their legs slipped and were drowned in the tides of the river with their bodies not recovered to yet. According to the latest news this is an unfortunate incident if Sunday evening probably at 4.00 PM when four friends of Devprayag township had gone to play near the flowing river Alaknanda at Dev Prayag in Paris Garhwal district. While playing near the river, two of them got their legs slipped and were carried by the fast flowing river tides not to be recovered till yet despite the best efforts of the disaster management team and the local police’s divers. The search us still on. The two other children who came back badly shaken and frightened narrated the entire shocking incident after returning back home. Sources reveal that both the children hailed from Devprayag under the jurisdiction of Devprayag Thana. Those who were drowned in the river are Adesh, 12 years old and 8 years old Abhishek of village Pundal Devprayag. He was the sone of Hiralal. Both the drowned children were real brothers. According to the Station House Officer of Devprayag the SDRF Srinagar and Water rescue police of Devprayag had carried out an extensive search the entire night but could not locate the children. However, the search is still being carried out intensively. The DIP diving team is also on the job who expressed their inability to trace the children dead or alive, however the search operation still continues unabatedly. Devprayag is a confluence point if two river – Alaknanda and Bhagirathi which gets converted to pious Ganges.
