DHARNA CUM PROTEST DEMONSTRATION AT JANTAR MANTAR ON JOSHIMATH ISSUE ON 4 TH FEBRUARY

The activists of several socio political organisations are staging a sit in cum demonstration at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi to express their solidarity with the JOSHIMATH populace which is sinking and cracks developed in over more than thousand houses, hotels n other buildings including wide cracks on roads n elsewhere resulting in evacuation of thousands of people n families in acute distress. There have been incessant sit ins and protest demonstration on daily basis at JOSHIMATH town with a massive Tiranga Yatra carried out on 26 th January 2023 dancing immediate closure of 520 MW Hydropower Project, ongoing works in its tunnels and the Marvadi Badrinath Highway holding them directly responsible for the critical JOSHIMATH situation. The demonstrators n hundreds of displaced inhabitants and families are also demanding adequate financial compensation and their immediate rehabilitation and resettlement at the earliest. In order to express their solidarity to the noble cause and to exert pressure of the central and state government several socio political organisations are staging their sit in cum peaceful protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar from 11 AM to 4.00 PM on 4 th February 2023 appealing one and all to participate. A memorandum will also be presented to the government after the completion of the protest Dharna.
