Dhan Singh Rawat , lawmaker from Garhwal Uttarakhand gheraod by infuriated villagers

As the Uttarakhand Assembly elections are nearing expeditiously, being just nine months ahead to be held in the initial months of 2022, the disenchanted and furious electorates of some parts of Uttarakhand are annoyed with their lawmakers gheraoing them or expressing their disenchantment through protest demonstrations or sit ins, including highlighting their plight on social media like Facebook, twitter and WhatsApp etc.

Few days ago a proactive social activist Devesh Admi associated with Aam Admi Party had raised corruption about the highly substandard material used in the construction of a road near his village resulting in the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat taking sup moto cognizance of the vedio going viral in social media and immediately suspending the executing and assistant engineer of PWD after proper authentication of the grievances founding the charge of alleged corruption as genuine.

Similarly today few hundred women, men and youths of Syunsaal village led by a social organisation Chauthan Mandal Yuva, Mahilayen Avon Bujurg, on Wednesday gheraoed the cabinet minister of Uttarakhand and MLA from Shrinagar assembly constituency Dhan Singh Rawat not allowing his cavalcade to move further until they acknowledge a written assurance about the road’s metalization ( Dambarikaran) and construction.

The extremely furious residents of Syunsaal village were not ready to budge an inch unless the MLA n minister Dhan Singh Rawat would give them a written assurance.

There were vociferous exchange of views between the minister, his staff n the Syunsaal residents who were extremely annoyed with the MLA saying that they had been fooled since long and repeated fake assurances given. According to a vedio received in WhatsApp the villagers of Syunsaal gaon were infact fed up with the fake n repeated assurances by the lawmaker n the concerned authorities despite the state coming into existence two decades ago.

The lawmaker Dhan Singh Rawat had invited them to his office for negotiations but the infuriated villagers were not prepared to relent. It has been learnt that the minister had to finally agree to the demands of the Syunsaal village, under Shrinagar assembly constituency and the Gherao ended. However, the vedio posted by the infuriated villagers is going viral in the social media.
