Pauri Garhwal MP and former UK CM Tirath Singh Rawat raises the issue of Child trafficking in parliament and demands immediate setting up of Fast Track Child Rescue Cells in the country !

The former chief minister of Uttarakhand and Lok Sabha member of parliament Tirath Singh Rawat demanded formation of fast track child rescue cells at the centre and in all the states of the country in order to save millions of children going missing in the country through illegal trafficking n being sexually assaulted also forcing them into begging etc.

Raising the issue in Lok Sabha under notification of rule 377 Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha MP Tirath Singh Rawat raised the issue of formation of Fast Track Child Rescue cells ( FTC RC) in the country to enable protection of around 472 million children of the nation.

Speaking on this pivotal issue Tirath Singh Rawat said that this is heart wrenching to note that in India despite the very fact that our children are invaluable and future of the country – in every 8 minutes a child is trafficked or goes missing and 109 children are being sexually assaulted every day.

This worrisome situation needs to be curbed at all costs with precision. He demanded not only formation of fast track child rescue cells at the pan India level but also observing the following 6 points , the first being drawbacks and negligence committed to trace the children who are trafficked or go missing n crimes committed against them.

He emphasised that there is need to lodge zero FIR as in view of lack of sufficient information the FIRs are lodged after tremendous delays and sometimes not even lodged.

There is shortage of manpower, lack of new techniques n technology, policemen being over worked and lack of time in police department leading to their taking little interest in matters related to children said Rawat.

Non availability of online information of children in orphanages by the government and adhar cards of infants not being made are also some of the reasons for missing of trafficked children, especially infants not being traced for whole life after being lifted from hospital wards n other places said Pauri Garhwal MP Tirath Singh Rawat.

He also stressed on counselling of the parents of 9 to 18 years old children who after running away from their house are retraced and restored to the parents to enable their parents deal with them with immense dexterity after counselling so that they lead a good lifestyle in future not running away for the second time.

He also demanded the facilities of biometric technology, immediate lodging of FIRs and making of Adhar cards of infants born in govt or private hospitals of at home to enable convenience in tracing the trafficked children.

He finally urged to immediately form the fast track child rescue cells at the national level n in all the states of the country to resolve this complex issue of children’s rampant trafficking, their sexual abuse and playing with their future, who are the future of the country.

Kindly recall that the Child Right Search Foundation activist Kusum Kandwal Bhatt had met former UK CM n MP T. S. Rawat and presented him a memorandum urging him to raise the issue in Parliament.

According to the figures available in 2022 about three thousand cases of human trafficking was reported and with almost three thousand victims across India.

According to NCRB statistics in 2021 the government reported investigation of 1714 trafficking cases under the IPC compared with with 2088 cases in 2019. However, these seems to be squeezed figured.

The author fondly remember’s that a five year old girl child Kashish Rawat went missing from her Noida house about seven years ago, possible kidnapped and there is no trace of her till date despite the intervention of several UP CMs and then union home minister Rajnath Singh and several MPs with hundreds of protest demonstrations n candle marches including debates on TV channels and good coverage in print n electronics media.
