Name of Sukhu almost final. Pratibha Singh supporters up in arms. Observers huddled at Cecil Hotel in Simla.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu a several times MLA from Nadaun Assembly constituency may be the new chief minister of Himachal Pradesh as latest news suggest that finalisation on his name has already been made and it’s just a matter of announcement to be made. Mukesh Agnihotri would be the deputy CM according to a latest news report.

However, nothing is certain in politics. The Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has reportedly been authorized to make the announcement in this regard.

However, the enraged supporters of Pratibha Singh, MP and party chief are still raising slogans in support of her candidature outside Cecil Hotel at Simla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh and the three observers viz Bhupesh Singh Baghel, Chattisgarh, former CM Haryana and Rajiv Shukla assigned the responsibility to find the next Himachal CM have already interviewed the forty Congress MLAs n the consensus seem to have arrived in favour of Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu.

There are also reports of one of the claimants Mukesh Agnihotri four term MLA having walked out of the meeting of CLP in angry mood, perhaps after his name was not considered. However, he has been pacified by making him agree to be the deputy CM. The fight for the CM’s chair had narrowed down between Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu and Pratibha Singh, Mandi MP n wife of former CM Beer Bhadra Singh.

The enraged supporters protesting outside Cecil Hotel have said that the former veteran CM who has done so much for the state during his political career of five decades should be respected and his wife should be crowned as the next CM.

The only point that seem to go against her is that she had criticized the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for not campaigning in Himachal Pradesh cutting short hhis padyatra.

There were news about her speaking against Congress leaders too for not campaigning in the state during elections. Moreover, her enraged supporters too had vociferously protested and even fought their rivals physically.

They had allegedly stopped and gheraoed the car of the chief observer and Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Singh Baghel in Simla yesterday. Despite all this Pratibha Singh will have to resign as, MP from Mandi and the state will have to face two by elections, one from Mandi Parliament seat and another from the assembly seat from where she would contest but the question was as to who would vacate the MLA seat for her. In order to avoid these complexities, Sukhu’s name who had nearly twenty lawmakers in his favour have been finalised and High command gave their go through to it. Sukhvinder Singh will take the oath tomorrow.
