After tumultuous confusion on CM’s name Priyanka to decide the next CM of Himachal Pradesh

After winning on 40 seats in Himachal Pradesh, the choice of an unanimous candidate has become a cumbersome task for the Congress High Command as the three senior leaders send as observer to Simla viz Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Singh Baghel, Rajiv Shukla and former Haryana CM Bhupender Singh Hooda had a very hectic day yesterday till evening as not only the supporters of various claimants raised slogans against each other, fought physically but also blocked the car of Bhupesh Baghel.

There had been protest demonstrations by the vociferous supporters of Pratibha Singh, MP from Mandi, wife of former CM Verr Bhadra Singh and prime claimant for the post demanding Pratibha Singh’s elevation as the CM of Himachal Pradesh.

According to news reports though earlier three names were doing rounds for this post viz Pratibha Singh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu and Mukesh Agnihotri, the former was carrying the support of 18 MLAs and Sukkhu too support of similar number of MLAs.

Now, according to latest reports the contest has narrowed down between Pratibha Singh and Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu.

After tremendous tumultuous scenes of confrontation between various groups of supporters of the claimants, Sukkhu finally brought a one line resolution to give free hand to Congress high Command to decide the CM and all supported the one line resolution.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the Congress General secretary Priyanka Gandhi who was highly instrumental in Congress’s victory in HP has been given the power to declare the name of next CM of Himachal Pradesh.

The Congress high command on the advise of the three HP observers has assigned the responsibility to Priyanka Gandhi who is being credited for the party’s historic victory in Himachal Pradesh.

It may be recalled that Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi along with the party national chief Mallikarjun Kharge have extensively campaigned in Himachal Pradesh with Rahul Gandhi not able to canvass support for party candidates due to his being engaged in Bharat Jodo Yatra and last leg of Gujarat campaigning.

During her hectic campaigning Priyanka Gandhi while addressing public meetings at Sirmour, Kangaroo, Solan, Una etc had taken the BJP to task on issues of unemployment, Agniveer, rampant corruption, inflation, plight of apple growers, and the new pension scheme assuring people to bring back the OPS and Rs 1500 dole to every women above 18 years of age if Congress party returns to power in the state.
