“Arunachal Against Corruption”, demands meeting with President and PM and a CBI enquiry into the alleged large scale corruption prevailing in Arunachal Pradesh !

Several youths of Arunachal Pradesh with a population of merely 14 lakhs under the banner of “Arunachal Against Corruption”, have marched from Arunachal Pradesh’s capital, Itanagar, confronting various odds and challenges and reached Delhi on September 24 in two months staging an indefinite sit in at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi pledging to continue their Dharna till they prove successful in meeting the President Draupadi Mormu and prime minister Narendra Modi against widespread corruption in the state of Arunachal Pradesh especially against the chief minister Prema Khandu and his family demanding CBI and ED enquiry into these serious corruption charges.

Addressing a, press conference at Press Club of India, the chairperson of “Arunachal Against Corruption”, Toko Sheetal, president Tame Yubin and Convenor cum spokesperson AAC Birendra Talam while allegedly accusing the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, his henchmen and family members in various corruption charges has said that the overall situation in the state is highly worrisome as apart from knee jerk corruption in various departments of the government, with extremely weak opposition with merely 11 MLAs of different parties, the women are not safe and victims of alleged rape and insecurity. The chairperson of AAC Toko Sheetal in her hard hitting statement demanded impartial enquiry on all the corruption charges against CM Prema Khandu and his associates by CBI and, ED including family members regarding allocation of contracts of various government projects n schemes to the companies of the family and henchmen expressing their complete faith in the dynamic leadership of Prime minister Narendra Modi urging upon him to meet and hear them and order for an impartial probe through the premier investigative agency of the country.

They said being significant votaries of the state n central governments we have every right to demand probe into the ongoing corruption in the state where financial packages worth crores of Rupees are bering allocated by the centre but being misused for personal vested interests on massive scale.

Accusing the chief minister of AP Prema, Khandu , their near and dear ones and his henchmen AAC chairperson Toko Sheetal said that while the centre has allocated good financial package to the state under various people welfare schemes n projects but despite the allocation of Rs 68 crores in SGRY scheme, Rs 142 crore in DDUGJY, Rs 889 crores to Punchayats, Rs. 588 crores to CAMPA Fund, 1400 crores to Hydropower Projects, and several hundred crores to Mines and Mineral departments, APPSC and APSSB Jobs etc there have been allegedly embezzlement of govt funds which is primarily the tax payers money and the collections made by the government through tax collections and GST etc.

This vast misuse and embezzlement of funds allocated by the central government to Arunachal Pradesh in various schemes, allegedly by the high ups in Arunachal Pradesh government in connivance with the CM Prema Khandu needs to be impartially probed by central agencies asserted AAC chairperson Toko Sheetal while addressing the press conference at Press Club of India on Sunday.

They also allegedly accused the CM Prema Khandu of possessing properties at 17 places on different locations in his and in the names of his relatives n family members terming it as a case of disproportionate assets n income earned through unfair means.

In a signed press release after the PC the AAC chairperson Toko Sheetal said though this last decade or so the state of Arunachal Pradesh had been going through and submerged in corruption and corrupt practices in almost every department and establishment, the common men especially the unemployed educated youths are frustrated and bewitched by the present government led by chief minister Prema Khandu.

It was this frustration and disbelief in the prevailing system in AP that a group of individuals especially youths are compelled to foot march to Delhi from Arunachal Pradesh capital facing tremendous odds and challenges during the last two months going sick and even vomitting blood on the way.

Before coming to Delhi the volunteers of AAC had earlier staged a 28 day Sit In cum protest at the state capital but since their voice was not heard there they were compelled to march to Delhi for a long battle to seek justice against rampant corruption in the state.

They announced that till the president and prime minister do not give them a patient hearing and order a CBI enquiry into this rampant corruption in various state projects including against the CM we will not lift our Dharna n protest demonstrations from Jantar Mantar. They were annoyed with the fact that the senior BJP leaders had earlier accused the CM, Arunachal Pradesh of various corruption charges with their signatures and written petitions but now the same person is being backed and supported by them forgetting their past accusations regarding rampant corruption charges against him. Sounds shocking said AAC chairperson Toko Sheetal.
