Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat visits Saraikhet in Mussourie assembly constituency and criticizes govt on lodging FIR against a youth during Agniveer recruitment process at Pauri, Garhwal
The damage and loss of lives in Pauri and Tehri districts of Uttarakhand due to cloud burst incidents and natural calamities has so far claimed few lives but lots are still missing. The district magistrates of Pauri and Tehri districts have already commenced rescue operations to retrieve the dead bodies n those alive from under the debris and on entire Sunday the SDRF team, police and rescue teams were busy in the rescue operation. The administration till yesterday evening was expecting poke land machines to clear the rubble and retrieve the bodies which has now arrived and rescue operation going on in full speed.
According to the latest information coming in, the commissioner Garhwal division Sushil Kumar informed that he has given necessary directions to asses the damage, retrieve the dead bodies and search those missing in this natural catastrophe, including provision of immediate medical aids to the affected victims.
According to his information so far four persons have succumbed to this catastrophe, in which one person was from Garhwal district, two from Tehri and one from Dehradun.
About 13 persons are still missing in this catastrophe with 6 persons from Tehri district and 7 from Dehradun district.
In Dehradun districct 12 persons were injured during the delude due to cloud bursts and are being treated in the government hospitals.
According to the Commissioner Garhwal division Sushil Kumar till now 63 domestic animals lost their lives and 8 houses were fully damaged while 44 partially destroyed.
There have been damage of water pipelines, electricity connections n lines, government properties and Amrit Sarovar as well. After the complete assessment of the losses the government is planning to render all possible financial compensation to the affected families, persons, those who died and injured including compensation for the loss of houses fully n partially etc.
Garhwal Division Commissioner Sushil Kumar disclosed that a helicoptor has been deployed for rescue operations and 39 NDRF and 64 SDRF officials including police, revenue and health departments teams have been deputed and dispatched in these rescue operations.
Meanwhile, the former chief minister of Uttarakhand Harish Rawat today went to the Saraikhet calamity affected area in Mussourie assembly constituency and met the senior officials and the affected persons. He tweeted : Today visited the Saraikhet area under Mussourie assembly constituency affected by natural disaster and met the affected persons to know about their well being. Heard their grievances and gave suggestions to district megistrate, city magistrate and Tehsildaar etc. Those who accompanied me during the visit to the catastrophic affected areas were Mahendra Singh Negi, Om Prakash Sati, Manish Karnwal, and Shyam Singh Chouhan etc.
In another tweet pertaining to a scuffle between a Karnvir candidate and SDM in Pauri Harish Rawat tweeted in Hindi : A youth raised some issues during the recruitment process of Agniveer because youths were annoyed due to delay in grant of Agniveer Certificates, there was no arrangements for food, n when these lapses were brought in front of the senior officers but unfortunately an FIR was lodged against him.
