Man eater leopard witnessed in Chauras campus of Girls hostels in HNB Garhwal university. Girls students badly terrified !

As all know there have been constant threat of man eater leopards freely roaming around in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal and Kumaon region posing direct threat to the local inhabitants in interior villages, those living on roadside houses and even in townships. There have been several instances of these predators entering houses, schools and university campuses as well. Not a day is passed when news about these man eater carnivores killing human beings is not reported. During the last months there have been several incidents of human kills by dreaded man eaters in Pauri Garhwal and Chamoli district as well as in Pithoragarh n Nainital districts. After the increasing construction activities, deforestation, unfriendly development n roads widening n construction including massive inflow of traffic n sound pollution with fires spreading in jungles every summer are some of the vital reasons disturbing n damaging the flora and fauna of Uttarakhand hills compelling the carnivores coming near human habitats in search of food n flesh and in the absence of domestic animals, etc they pounce on women working in fields, children, old men n even young ones dragging them to nearby jungles filling their hungry belly. The forest n wild life department is finding themselves hapless with only option of fitting cages in man eater infected selective areas at the most and depending on these predators to get trapped in these iron cages including hiring professional hunters to kill them. Few months, ago badly infuriated inhabitants have literally immolated a man eater trapped in a cage in Garhwal region with forest department lodging cases against about 150 inhabitants under various sections of Wild Life Protection Act. But unfortunately the problem doesn’t end here. Thr tragedy of human kills goes on. Now, the courage of these man eaters have gone to such and extent that they do not hesitate to enter the schools n college campuses. On August 12 , a man eater entered a girls hostel in Srinagar creating quite a sensitivity and terror among 380 girls of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna central university who were fortunate enough not being hurt or becoming prey to the freely wandering man eater. The terrified girls on watching the man eater roaming there locked themselves inside their hostels. There are in all six girls hostel in HN Bahuguna central university and this man eater was witnessed in the Chauras campus at Girls hostel. This man eater is freely roaming in this vicinity for the last several days in search of human flesh reveal sources. After hearing the news the forest department officials visited the Chouras campus and supervised the are finding several impressions of the paws of man eater. They have brought iron cages and have installed them in the vicinity in the hope to trap it. The girl students n the staff living in hostels are badly terrified including the population of the nearby surroundings.
