11 dead bodies retrieved from under the debris in Noney district of Manipur due to heavy landslide. Several still missing!

According to the news ten persons, out of which the majority of them are from territorial army are reported to have died due to massive landslide in Manipur’s Noney district including more than one hundred injured. The news flashed by various channels revealed that after intensive search operations carried out by the Indian n Territorial Army including Assam police and disaster management teams two dead bodies of territorial army personel were retrieved from under the heavy debris this morning sending shock waves all around. Several sniffing dogs, heavy buldiozers and other machines have been pressed into service to retrieve the dead bodies as well those alive under the debris said the sources and the press release issued by the agencies involved in the massive rescue operations. Thirteen people so far have reportedly been rescued in the ongoing rescue operations and the NDTV news also revealed that the river due the massive flow of debris silt into it has created a dam like water body that could result in a heavy deluge like situation in the low lying areas, after removal of the silt n debris creating a more complex situation. The injureds are being ferried in Army helicopters to the hospitals and according to a report published in Hindu fifty five persons are trapped in the debris with twenty villagers n children including railway employees too missing. It may be recalled that the territorial army was working in a railway construction camp in Tupul in Noney district of North East state Manipur killing so far eleven people, majority of them from Territorial Army. The rescue operation currently is in full swing with Army, disaster management rescue teams, Assam police and others busy in the ongoing rescue operations with bulldozers n other heavy machines.
