A major accident of a bus occured near Damta on Gangotri national highway in which 32 persons were travelling. 23 bodies have been retrieved

There is an extremely shocking news about a bus in which 32 people were travelling having met with a terrible accident in which there are unfortunate possibilities of several casualties as per the latest news pouring in.

This accident took place near Damta on Gangotri national Highway. The bus was full of tourists of Madhya Pradesh probably 32 passengers who were on Chardham Yatra. The bus after the driver lost the control fell in the deep gorge. The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami personally supervised the rescue operations from the control room at Dehradun and worried chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh spoke to UK CM requesting him to ensure safety of the victims. The brutal accident occured in Uttarkashi, Purola near Daamta on Gangotri national Highway. The prime minister announced Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved families of each of the deceased of this heart wrenching accident and Rs. 50000 to each of the injured. The Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami too announced the financial compensation of Rs one lakh to each of the deceased bereaved family and Rs 50000 to the injured. The Uttarakhand CM said that the SDRF teams were immediately dispatched on the rescue mission who retrieved 23 dead bodies and search was on for the injured as well. The NDRF teams were also rushed to the accident spot urgently. The chief minister personally monitored the rescue operation from the control room directing the DM, senior police officers, SDRF n NDRF teams to expedite the entire rescue operation, also immediately pressing into service the medical teams and ambulances to the accident spot.

Hopefully all wish that the minimum tragedy happens and rest are safe but in Uttarakhand where accidents have become the order of the day as are the cases of man eater kills, in majority of accidents the vehicles, fall in deep gorge after accidents leading to several deaths and grievous injuries. Kindly recall that a bus with several passengers has few days ago hit against a wall on the same highway.

Fortunately due to the intelligence and dexterity of the driver this accident could be averted. Kindly recall that several deadly accidents of buses falling in deep gorges, buses overturning, collision etc have happened on Rishikesh Gangotri Highway several times in which there had been casualties as well and grievous injuries.
