Tenth class student of Gopeshwar School, Mansi Negi fetched Gold medal in National Federation Cup Junior Athletic Championships in Gujarat. Raised the name of Uttarakhand high. Congrats

Uttarakhand’s name has once against been brightened. Two athletes from Uttarakhand have won the prestigious Gold medals in the national “Khelo India Khelo Competition”. The Gold medalist winners are in the Walk Race namely Mansi Negi and Paramjit Singh Bisht belonging to Chamoli district of Garhwal Uttarakhand.

Their coaches are Gopal Singh Bisht and Lata Jhinkwan who also deserve to be complemented for ably and adequately training the athelete bringing laurels for the nation and the state. What is unique and exceptional about these two gold medalist walk runners in the prestigious national Khelo India games – National Federation Cup Junior Athletic Championships”, is that Maansi brought laurels for Uttarakhand and the country despite the hard fact that they hailed from modest backgrounds and didn’t had sufficient resources. What is exceptionally outstanding about this class tenth girl is that Mansi Negi finished her ten kilometre walk race in 54 minutes, 54 seconds and qualified herself as a participant in World Championships to be held in Columbia from 1 st to 6 th August under 20 age catagory.

The Golden girl of Uttarakhand Mansi Negi of Chamoli who’d won and fetched gold in her 3000 metres walk race has become a celebrated inspirational source for girls of Uttarakhand, especially for students of Chamoli schools and colleges. Studying in tenth class of Negwad school at Gopeshwar, Maansi is the resident of a distant village of Dasholi Block of Chamoli whose father died in 2016. After the sudden demise of her mechanic father six years ago her mother looked after her with limited means and, raised her accordingly but brilliant Mansi never gave up and finally brought laurels for Uttarakhand fetching gold medal in Khelo India National Games.

Good luck to both the outstanding achievers. Meanwhile, the chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami felt elated and congratulated the winners of their gold medals victory.

In a tweet the chief minister said in hindi : Congratulations to daughter of Uttarakhand Mansi Negi for securing Gold Medal in the Junior Athletics Championships of National Federation Cup thus qualifying for world Championship.

There is a wave of ecstacy in entire Uttarakhand and in other parts of the country especially among Uttarakhandies living elsewhere as well.
