Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha demands new land act and sees a foreign hand in disturbing the demography of Ukhand. Writes to PM

Since the Bhartiya Janata Party government won the 2022 assembly election, the first thing it did was to form a high level committee to implement uniform civil code in Uttarakhand, though it also formed a committee led by the former chief secretary Subhash Kumar, claiming to be working on the enactment of a new concrete land act in Uttarakhand on the lines of Himachal Pradesh.

However, people fighting for the strong land act busy in collecting signatures on this proposal in Uttarakhand as well as at the pan India level, are hardly optimistic.

However, despite these two important issues, there had also been voices about outsiders entering Uttarakhand in large numbers, buying or capturing lands illegally and also building religious structures with ulterior leading to disturbing the demography of Devbhoomi and also snatching the assembly seats of Uttarakhand hills, with plain areas likely to get more number of assemblies in the 2027 new delimitation exercise.

While, the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party and its rank and file had been constantly complaining about the entry of outsiders in the state particularly people of the minority sections including constructing religious structures in Uttarakhand while Congress party mum, not speaking a word, the chief of a regional party of Uttarakhand Dr. V. K. Bahuguna has demanded the intervention of prime minister Narendra Modi on this issue requesting for taking immediate appropriate action as in his view during the last ten years front 2011 to 2022, a whopping 30 to 43% of voters have been included in the voters list.

In a detailed letter written to prime minister Narendra Modi, the president of of URM Dr Bahuguna while congratulating him for his party’s spectacular victory said that in order to save the cultural integrity of the hilly state his intervention is utmostly necessary. He also demanded the enactment of new land act of Uttarakhand on the lines of Himachal Pradesh having already written to CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. URM chief Dr Bahuguna allegedly finds a pre strategic foreign hand in this exercise to disturb the demography of Uttarakhand. The letter below is self explanatory.
