Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi meet the kin of lovepreet, Nachtar n journalist killed in Lakhimpur to part their grief
The former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary Priyanka Gandhi along with Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi, senior Congress leader n general secretary K. C Venugopal on Wednesday met the kin of nineteen year old Navpreet in Lakhimpur Kheeri and expressed their grief and condolences on the brutal death of their son sending shock waves across the state and country.

Both Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi hugged the bereaved family members and assured them to bring the culprits to justice. They were with the family for quite some time parting grief with them.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was released from her detention at PAC guest house Sitapur after her arbitrary arrest under section 151 of CRPC while she was going to meet the bereaved family members of farmers who were mowed down allegedly by the son of union state minister’s vehicle at Tikonia in Lakhimpur two days ago.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had arrived at Lucknow airport from where he was initially not given permission to move ahead but after he sat on Dharna he was given permission though in a police vehicle, to which Rahul Gandhi rejected apprehending that he may be arrested and taken somewhere. How can I trust them he said.
Finally he was allowed to go in his own vehicle since he had a special VIP security and being a highly sensitive matter.
Rahul and his team went to Sitapur and from there they went with Priyanka Gandhi to meet the bereaved families if Lovepreet and journalist who died in the tragic incidents.
After meeting the family of Lovepreet, Rahul, Priyanka, Punjab CM Channi and Venugopal also met the grief stricken family members of deceased journalist Raman Kashyap n Nachtar Singh and parted grief with all the family members.
They met his grief stricken traumatic father, mother, wife and younger brother and assured them of due justice by getting the culprits tried under the strictest sections of the law.
It may be recalled that the brother of deceased journalist Raman Kashyap has in a video posted by someone in Twitter accused a journalist of an electronic channel of pressuring him to accuse the farmers for allegedly murdering his brother, which according to him wasn’t the case.
Meanwhile, the union state home minister Ajay Mishra Teni today met home minister Amit Shah and acquainted him about what actually happened on the day of the tragedy.
Meanwhile, the farmers’ leader Rakesh Tikaith on Wednesday reiterated his demand regarding the resignation of union state home minister Ajay Mishra Teni and arrest of all the accused of Lakhimpur Khiri incident.
He warned the central government to resort to direct action if his demand is not met within a week’s tIme.
The Trinamool Congress chief and Bengal chief minister Mamta Bannerjee in a tweet wrote : I strongly condemn the barbaric incident in Lakhimpur Kheri. The apathy of @BJP4India towards the farmers brethren pains me deeply. A delegation of 5@AIT official MPs will be visiting the families of the victims tomorrow. Our farmers will always have our unconditional support tweeted Bengal chief minister.
