6 DAYS REMAND TO DELHI CM ARVIND KEJRIVAL. HE IS THE KINGPIN SAYS ED
THE national convenor of AAP and Delhi chief minister who was arrested on Thursday by the Enforcement Directorate from his official residence after the Rouse Avenue court did not give him protection from the coercive action as requested by him in his petition , has been remanded for six days in ED custody. Special CBI judge Kaveri Baveja remanded the Delhi CM to ED custody till 28 March.
The enforcement directorate has asked for his ten days remand. After the arrest and subsequent 6 days ED custody there had been spate of demonstrations in Delhi by AAP leaders and activists and the minister Atishi was detained too for protesting with party supporters.
In Punjab too there were protests by the AAP activists and the police had a hard day dealing with them.
Arvind Kejrival is the second sitting chief minister after late Jayalalitha of Tamilnadu. Last month the former CM of Jharkhand who had resigned was arrested by ED under PMLA .
Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival has also been arrested on the charges of money laundering for allegedly accepting Rs 100 crores bribe from the liquor cartel and the enforcement directorate said in the court that he is the kingpin of the liquor mafia etc.
The enforcement directorate has arrested him under PMLA accusing him and the AAP for receiving Rs 100 crores as alleged bribe through the Southern lobby in connection with the new liquor policy of Delhi government implemented in 2021 -22 which was later in revoked.
According to enforcement directorate the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party has allegedly received kickbacks of Rs.100 crores in connection with the excise policy and the same has been used in Goa elections.
It is believed that the enforcement directorate sleuths had raided the official residence of Arvind Kejrival and had found a credible evidence regarding cash payment of Rs 70 lakhs to certain AAP workers for Goa elections.
There are reports that the ED has questioned many of such recipients of AAP in this connection.
Meanwhile the Lok Kalyan Marg metro station and ITO metro were closed after the police got information about protests by AAP activists and leaders against Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest and subsequent remand for six days terming the action as unjustifiable and politically motivated.
The AAP has posted the picture of Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival from Rouse Avenue court captioning it : HE IS NOT A PERSON, HE IS A THOUGHT ( Vichar) WHO RESIDES IN MILLIONS IF HEARTS, THIS SMILE, THIS COURAGE AND HONESTY, THE DICTATOR IS AFRAID.
The union minister and vociferous actor turned BJP leader Smriti Irani was ahead to criticize Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival saying today we got details as to how a person who sits in a constitutional post and cited honesty , is a symbol of corruption who defines it by misusing administrative machinery through the deeds of Arvind Kejrival.
The finance minister of Delhi Atishi wrote on her social media handle on X :
For the first time in the history of India’s democracy:
A Sitting Chief Minister has been arrested by the Central Government. Arresting the National Convenor of the National Party. Arrest in an investigation in which ₹ 1 recovery of proceeds of crime has not taken place even after two years of investigation.
This only shows that there is fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, he feels that if there is only one leader in the country who can challenge him then it is him@ArvindKejriwal .
According to ANI Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari while reacting in the arrest and remand of Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival said “If no one has come today, then who is going to come after 2-4 days?… The people of Delhi are not even discussing them.”
