Hundreds of Uttarakhandies in Delhi and NCR demand CBI probe monitored by SC judge at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi


Two back to back massive demonstrations were held at Jantar Mantar with the presence of hundreds of inhabitants living in Delhi and NCR including leaders of various students and youth organisation and political parties.

The presence of the large number of outraged people across socio political spectrum crossing political and ideological affiliations to demand the CBI probe in the most sensitive Ankita Bhandari case under the watchful eye of the retired Supreme Court judge and Narco tests of the suspicious VIP , exhibited an outstanding unity among Uttarakhandies in Delhi and NCR including people from non Uttarakhand community.

The protest demonstrations were organised by Mahanagar Dilli Uttarakhand Pravasi Sangathan and Uttarakhand Bhu Kanoon Samitee Delhi.

Those who came in the morning protest demonstrations continued their presence in the post noon session protest as well with negligible few leaving the venue and people joining it in large numbers.

Majority of the people were extremely furious with the ruling political dispensation BJP which is on the power saddle in Delhi and Uttarakhand for favouring a VIP, the main accused in Ankita Bhandari case and despite the startling revelation of two names of the VIPs by one of the saffron party’s own former MLA Suresh Rathore the audio clip released by the former BJP member and ex wife of the former , actress Urmila.

They vociferously raised the anti BJP and government slogans and demanded the CBI probe under the watchful eyes of the Supreme Court judge, immediate arrest of the suspicious VIP , conduction of his Narco tests and resignation of the Uttarakhand CM.

Several journalists, writers, politicians, students and youth leaders of left parties and women addressed this massive rally and raised a cumulative voice to punish the VIP forthwith with the resignation of Uttarakhand chief minister under whose instructions the evidence in Vanantara resort were deliberately destroyed by the Yamkeshwar MLA Dr. Renu Bisht.

Prominent amongst those who addressed this massive meeting at Jantar Mantar were Sunil Negi , senior journalist and president Uttarakhand Journalists Forum, Kal Dhyani, president of Pravasi Sangathan, senior journalist and activist Charu Tiwari, Congress leader Haripal Rawat, Congress leader Laxman Rawat, Vice president Uttarakhand Congress Dhirendra Pratap, DIGMOHAN Negi, Pawan Maithani, general secretary GHS, Ajay Bisht , former President GHS, leading women activist Yogita Bayana, CPI (MLA) leader Purushottam Sharma, CPI leader and Delhi General Secretary Professor Dinesh Varshney , and several others.

At the conclusive meeting a march raising slogans demanding a CBI probe in Ankita Bhandari case and strongly condemning the BJP government including the resignation of Pushkar Singh Dhami were raised with placards in the hands of the protestors taking a round at Jantar Mantar precincts.

The meeting was ably conducted by social activist Surendra Halsi. During the conclusion of the protest meeting a memorandum cumulatively signed by those present in the protest demonstration addressed to the prime minister was handed over to a senior police officer to be submitted at PMO.
