55 year old stabbed on Wednesday, a Hungarian woman looted on Sunday and cars theft in Lodhi Colony a few months ago. No clue ?

While the crime in Delhi seems to be on the spurt, one of the posh colonies of Delhi Lodhi Colony inhabited by senior central government officers has become crime infested with just yesterday, on Wednesday a 55 year old man of Kotla Mubarakpur being stabbed and robbed of his belongings in Lodhi Colony’s 3 rd Avenue while returning home from Jor Bagh. A young criminal with a knife in his hand asked Kinker Singh of Kotla Mubarakpur to hand him whatever he is possessing including his purse. However, the victim resented bravely and was stabbed. The snatcher took his wallet and absconded. The victim was admitted in the hospital and us slated to be stable. Just a few days ago on Sunday, an Hungarian woman national, who was living in Hungarian Embassy with a counsellor friend was also looted of her Purse carrying Rs. 12000, mobile, credit cards and important documents by two motorcycle borne criminals near Dayal Singh College who followed her auto rickshaw right from Humayun Tomb. Few months ago two cars one Brezza and another probably Swift were stolen in a single night by car thefts from Block 16 of Lodhi Colony, with no trace of them till date despite police authorities being informed. They attempted for the third car theft the same night but some people raised an alarm, therefore they ran away with two cars, leaving the third behind reveal sources. The Lodhi Colony area comes under the jurisdiction of New Delhi Municipal Council and after this area becoming an Art district there is lot of frequent movement of art lovers and people of the nearby Jhuggi Jhompri clusters including unwanted elements on all working and holidays. The forcible taking away / thefts of window Iron panes by the drug addicts etc are common sight in Lodhi Colony government quarters with residents fed up of lodging their complaints . There had been several unreported incidents of snatchers active on Lodhi Colony roads allegedly snatching or attempting to snatch gold chains and mobile phones. The residents don’t want to involve themselves in legal wriggles therefore avoid lodging complaints. There is total lack of local patrolling in these colonies thus giving the petty and seasoned thieves enough courage to commit burglaries, snatchings and car thefts during day and night hours. The police in the case of the yesterday’s incident and the one happened few days ago with the Hungarian women are busy checking the CCTV footages and records of the criminals but till yet there is no clue to nab them. However, they are highly optimistic of bringing them to justice.

जबकि दिल्ली में अपराध तेजी से बढ़ रहे हैं, दिल्ली की पॉश कॉलोनियों में से एक लोधी कॉलोनी जहां केंद्र सरकार के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी रहते हैं, कल ही अपराधग्रस्त हो गई है, बुधवार को कोटला मुबारकपुर के एक 55 वर्षीय व्यक्ति को चाकू मारकर लूट लिया गया। जोर बाग से घर लौटते समय लोधी कॉलोनी के 3rd एवेन्यू में उनका सामान गिर गया। हाथ में चाकू लिए एक युवा अपराधी ने कोटला मुबारकपुर के किंकर सिंह से कहा कि उसके पर्स सहित जो कुछ भी उसके पास है वह उसे दे दे। हालाँकि, पीड़ित ने बहादुरी से विरोध किया और उसे चाकू मार दिया गया। उचक्के ने उनका पर्स लिया और फरार हो गए। पीड़ित को अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है और unki हालत स्थिर बताई जा रही है। अभी कुछ दिन पहले रविवार को हंगरी की एक महिला नागरिक, जो अपने एक काउंसलर मित्र के साथ हंगरी दूतावास में रह रही थी, से भी उसका पर्स लूट लिया गया था, जिसमें 12000 रुपये थे। दयाल सिंह कॉलेज के पास दो मोटरसाइकिल सवार अपराधियों ने Rs. 12000, मोबाइल, क्रेडिट कार्ड और महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज लूट लिए, जिन्होंने हुमायूं मकबरे से ही उसके ऑटो रिक्शा का पीछा किया था। कुछ महीने पहले लोधी कॉलोनी के ब्लॉक 16 से एक ही रात में दो कारें , एक ब्रेज़ा और दूसरी शायद स्विफ्ट चोरी हो गईं, पुलिस अधिकारियों को सूचित किए जाने के बावजूद आज तक उनका कोई सुराग नहीं मिला। उन्होंने उसी रात तीसरी कार चोरी का प्रयास किया, लेकिन कुछ लोगों ने शोर मचा दिया, इसलिए वे दो कारों के साथ भाग गए, जबकि तीसरी को पीछे छोड़ दिया। लोधी कॉलोनी क्षेत्र नई दिल्ली नगर पालिका परिषद के अधिकार क्षेत्र में आता है और इस क्षेत्र के कला जिला बनने के बाद यहां कला प्रेमियों और आसपास की झुग्गी झोपड़ी समूहों के लोगों का आना-जाना लगा रहता है, जिसमें सभी कामकाजी और छुट्टियों के दौरान अवांछित तत्व भी शामिल होते हैं। लोधी कॉलोनी के सरकारी क्वार्टरों में नशेड़ियों द्वारा जबरन खिड़की के शीशे तोड़ना/चोरी करना आम बात है और निवासी अपनी शिकायतें दर्ज कराने से तंग आ चुके हैं। लोधी कॉलोनी की सड़कों पर सक्रिय स्नैचरों द्वारा कथित तौर पर सोने की चेन और मोबाइल फोन छीनने या छीनने की कोशिश करने की कई अप्रकाशित घटनाएं हुई थीं। निवासी खुद को कानूनी पचड़े में नहीं डालना चाहते इसलिए शिकायत दर्ज कराने से बचते हैं। इन कॉलोनियों में स्थानीय गश्त की पूरी कमी है, जिससे छोटे और अनुभवी चोरों को दिन और रात के दौरान चोरी, झपटमारी और कार चोरी करने का पर्याप्त साहस मिलता है। कल की घटना और कुछ दिन पहले हंगरी की महिलाओं के साथ हुई घटना के मामले में पुलिस सीसीटीवी फुटेज और अपराधियों के रिकॉर्ड की जांच करने में जुटी है लेकिन अभी तक उन्हें पकड़ने के लिए कोई सुराग नहीं मिला है. हालाँकि, वे उन्हें न्याय के कटघरे में लाने को लेकर अत्यधिक आशावादी हैं।
