Nepal’s cordial relations with India are very old and is our trusted friend : Nepal interim PM
The interim prime minister of Nepal who is privileged to be the first woman to lead Nepal also being the first woman Chief Justice of Nepal Supreme Court has expressed her solidarity towards India terming it Nepal’s very old friend which has been with them always during their thick and thin. She catagorically appreciated the Indian behaviour and relations with millions of Nepali citizens living in India for years together saying that our lot of relatives also live in India and when there are distressed tears also roll down through our eyes. She added that she admits that Nepal’s relations are very ancient and good and India and a trusted neighbour has helped and supported us always. However, as the utensils after clashing with each other make sound similarly at times we have differences with India being our closest and trusted neighbour. This doesn’t mean that we have any wrong feelings against India. This is just natural about good brothers or friends sometimes having different opinions but believe me India and Nepal’s cordial relations have been protracted and incessant. These views were expressed by Sushila Karki after her being sworn in as the interim prime minister of Nepal. She in her first interview after being sworn in assured that Nepal’s relations with India will be further strengthened as India has been with Nepal during its thick and thin. Prime minister Narendra Modi congratulated Ms. Karki for becoming the prime minister of Nepal. He said in X : Heartfelt congratulations to Hon’ble Mrs Sushila Karki upon assuming the office of Prime minister of Nepal’s interim government. India is fully committed to the peace, progress and prosperity of Nepal’s bothers and sisters wrote PM Narendra Modi in X.
