57.7% votes polled till 5 PM, Exit polls giving edge to the saffron party !

The polling in the national capital territory of Delhi has finally come to an end at 6.00 where till 5.00 PM the polling percentage was 57.7. The final percentage of votes polled will be known after the election commission calculates the total polling during the remaining (last) one hour. In Delhi there are one crore fifty six lakh voters out of which 837, 617 are male voters while female voters are in 76 lakhs 3 thousand 56 numbers. There are 70 constituencies in Delhi and the AAP is contesting on all the assembly constituencies while the immediate rival BJP contesting on 68 seats having given two seats to JDU and LJP being its alliance partners. The Congress party is also contesting on almost all the seats in Delhi making a three concerned contest in some assembly constituencies.

The Bharatiya Janata Party which is ruling at the centre for the third term consecutively has not been successful in attaining power in Delhi despite its best efforts since 1998.

However, this time it seems to be extremely aggressive with prime minister Narendra Modi and its several union ministers , chief ministers, Party chief and entire political machinery concentrating in Delhi leaving no stone unturned to achieve political power this time.

When Arvind Kejrival led Aam Admi Party came to power for the very first time in Delhi in 2013 after taking birth as a new political party out of Anna Movement against corruption, the polling percentage in Delhi was more than 66% followed by 67.47 % in 2015 and then 62.86 in 2020.

This trend unambiguously indicates that if the poll percentage in Delhi goes down than what it was during the previous Delhi polls then this may be discouraging trend for Arvind Kejrival and AAP and probably favourable for Bharatiya Janata party.

It may be recalled that the negative points against the Aam Admi Party had been its anti incumbency factor being in power for more than a decade, its chief and deputy chief ministers and ministers having been jailed on PMLA and liquor scam related charges and their image degraded in the eyes of Delhi electorates and its consistency in being at loggerheads with the centre and prime minister Narendra Modi and the LG of Delhi but on the other hand Kejrival and AAP have been sympathised for being victimised by the ruling party for being proactive in serving the Delhites, giving freebies including raising the standard of education in Delhi government schools where children of the lower middle class seek quality education free of cost.

The Delhites are also satisfied and happy due to the free ride in DTC buses for women and improvement in health facilities in hospitals including new announcements of free treatment to senior citizens in private hospitals and Rs 2100 monthly doles to every women of Delhi etc.

Though the counting is on 8 th February the few exit polls released after 6.30 PM are giving edge to BJP than to AAP as being given earlier to the later by various opinion polls.

However, there is no denying the fact that Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leaders have been constantly complaining about thousands of votes being deleted from the electoral rolls and new additions made in large numbers including money being distributed in Jhuggi Jhompri clusters and ink already being applied on the voters to discourage them to go to polls. Majority of these are AAP voters. The AAP delegation led by the Delhi and former CM had also met the election commissioner complaining about these malpractices by BJP.

The following is the recent exit poll results, though exit or opinion polls are never correct always .

Out of the twelve exit polls after the polling ten polls are giving victory to BJP.

If the majority of the exit polls are to be believed then there is no reason not to believe that the hard work, dedication, money domination, machinery at work and the swiftness of the BJP, RSS workers at the grass roots played a very significant role as the AAP and Congress was devoid of grass root and booth level workers who had left their tables quite before 6.00 PM unambiguously indicating that they were over confident of their victory and all of them primarily depended and were highly optimistic of Kejrival wave as before + which actually was not the case.
