Man eater captured by forest department giving great sigh of relief to Almora inhabitants
The inhabitants of Almora township , Uttarakhand have heaved a great sigh of relief after a man eater was captured in the cage fixed by the forest department at Ranidhaara area from where the predator was ferried to the NET rescue centre. The captured female man eater leopard was later on left in another jungle perhaps fixing on her the necessary electronic gadgets to monitor her movements. In another matter, a team of youngsters of Mahatgaon, Paisyaari, Kanaalboonga, Ittaula, Kumaon met the divisional forest officer and presented him a memorandum urging him to fix cages in various locations of Ittaaula where a man eater is prowling for human flesh posing direct threat to the residents of above area. According to a member of the delegation Saurav Bisht the leopard has entered the village on 10 th and 12 th July and clandestinely attacked a goat n other domestic animals killing it on the spot. The forest department officials were reported the matter but due to the utter negligence of the employees the leopard escaped after leaving behind badly mutilated dead body behind. They said that the youths are repatriating back to their native places and involving themselves in poultry and farming diary farming but the carnivores are attacking these hens, goats and cows incessantly creating panic all around. These youngsters of Mahat village and the surrounding areas of Kumaon division have warned the DFO forest department to ensure that these carnivores are captured at the earliest by fixing iron cages and tranquilizing them failing which they will be compelled to resort to protest demonstrations the responsibility if which shall be solely of the forest department. The delegation of exasperated youngsters under the banner of Dharma Nirpeksh Yuve Manch ( Secular Youth Forum) included convenor, Vinay Kairola, Pawan Musyuni, Dinesh Sharma, Saurav Bisht, Saurav Mehta, Abhay Mehta, Aman Negi, Prakash Chandra Pandey, Mohit Musyuni, abhishekh Musyuni, Devendra Singh, Deepak Bisht etc.
