Prestigious President Medal recipients honoured at Garhwal Bhavan, New Delhi
The Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha, the largest representative organisation of the inhabitants of Uttarakhand living in Delhi and NCR has felicitated the four president medal winners hailing from Uttarakhand on the Republic Day. The four officers from NSG, Home Guard, Delhi Police Special Cell and Intelligence bureau decorated with outstanding president’s medal are Mr. Jagdish Maithani, Mr. Dharmendra Singh Rawat, Sh. Jayendra Aswal and Lalit Mohan Negi. These officers of high calibre from different wings of services were felicitated with President’s medals for their outstanding and exceptional distinguished, meritorious and gallantry services while serving in their respective departments. The Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha presented these officers with a shawl, bouquets and trophies as a mark of respect and appreciation for enhancing the their name and that of their communities hailing from Uttarakhand. Two officers Mr. Maithani and Mr. Aswal couldn’t make it on the occasion due to their official preoccupations. However Commandent home guards Dharmendra Singh Rawat and the Assistant Commissioner of Police Lalit Mohan Singh Negi were very much present till the last of the event. Not only were these outstanding officers felicitated by the office bearers of GHS but hundreds of office bearers of various, social organisations too presented them bouquets and posed for photographs with them lauding their immense contribution to their respective departments. The Assistant Commissioner of Police Lalit Mohan Negi who has been decorated for the fifth time consecutively with the president’s Gold medal has to his credit cracking several complex cases of hardcore criminals and Gangsters and resolving them in record time including killing several of them in encounters. He also played a vital role in finishing the terrorists of Indian Mujahideen and Lashkare Tayyeeba including solving and punishing the guilty of Red Fort case etc. The event was ably anchored by the president of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Ajay Singh Bisht. Good number of GHS members, journalists, social activists, writers, regional Garhwali film actors were present on this occasion. Prominent among those who were present and spoke on the occasion were Assistant Commissioner of police Lalit Mohan Negi, Commandent Dharmendra Singh Rawat, father of intelligent officer Mr. Aswal, Charu Tiwari, senior journalist, Vinod Bacheti, advocate Sanjay Darmora, Ajay Bisht, Sunil Negi, Deepak Dwivedi, Kiran Ishtwal Lakhera and others.
