The three times Delhi Soccer Champion Garhwal Heroes, earlier Garhwal Heroes Football Club has won the 2 nd Delhi Soccer league prestigious trophy receiving it at the hands of the Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi. The Royal Rangers won the runners up trophy. Apart from the Cup the team fetched a cheque of Rs. 2.5 lakhs. The runners up team got the cheque of Rs.1.5 lakhs and a trophy . There was a festive moment at the B.R Ambedkar grounds yesterday evening when the players and the coaches including the office bearers of the Club literally danced in jubilation to the playing of Pahadi musical tunes and Dhol Damau ( traditional drums), the ground giving a festive look. The Garhwal Heroes sought this prestigious victory and the Cup after three months of strong competition with various football teams of Delhi. The football coaches of the team especially Mr. Patwal and those associated with the club since long like Anil Negi, Rattan Rawat, Mr.Bisht, B.S.Negi etc deserve to be complemented for infusing in the players tremendous confidence to win these challenging competitions coming on the top with flying colours. According to a news report filed by leading sports journalist Rajendra Sajwan an unknown football club Vatika has entered this Premier League Competition attge behest of Delhi Soccer Association and established itself to an extent but couldn’t show its outstanding feat and came down on third position whereas Royal Rangers became the runners up next to the champion Garhwal Heroes. Garhwal Heroes Football Club deserves full marks and appreciation for coming victorious in the Delhi Premier League 2023 23 with flying colours.
