Master Blaster Tendulkar remembers his youthful days when he used to travel by BEST bus number 315 from Bandra to Shivaji Park for practice
Feeling thrilled indeed to see my old bus number 315. I used to board it from Bandra Kala Nagar to Shivaji Park to practice cricket. I used to be very exited. These are the nostalgic moments indeed said master blaster, the most popular and adorable cricketer in Indian history loved by his millions n millions of fans world over. The video posed in his face book Sachin Tendulkar memorised his old young days when he was leaning and practising cricket shuttling daily from his home in Kalnagar, Bandra to Shivaji Park to and fro. Pointing towards the bus number 315, Sachin Tendulkar, once adored as the God of Indian cricket says that he used to board the bus and sit on the last corner seat usually sleeping, sometimes even at bus stop, enjoying the moments as I was so badly tired after practice that used to wish that I get the last corner seat at the back. He entered the bus, showed the seat and even took a nap for seconds remembering his old youthful days travelling in red coloured BEST bus number 315. Forty eight years old Sachin’s video has gone viral with in just one day watched by 1.5 million viewers, shared 6.1 times, and commented by 6.1 thousand people by the time this, story was written. Hailing from a modest middle class Sachin’s elder brother plated a pivotal role in making him what he us today as a legendary cricketer, loved and adored by billions of his fans globally. It may be recalled that as, per Wikipedia, Sachin Tendulkar took up cricket at the age of eleven, made his Test Match debut on 15 November 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi at the age of sixteen and went on to represent Mumbai domestically and India internationally for close to twenty-four years. In 2002, halfway through his career, Wisden ranked him the SECOND GREATEST Test batsman of all time after eminent cricketer John Breadman and the second – greatest ODI batsman of all time, behind Vivian Richards.Lateron, in his career, Tendulkar was part of the Indian team that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup, his first win in six World Cup appearances for India. He had previously been named “Player of the Tournament” at the 2003 Edition of Tournaments.
Tendulkar received prestigious Arjuna Award in the year 1994 for his outstanding sporting achievements, the Khel Ratna, Award, India’s highest sporting honour, in 1997, and the coveted Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awards in 1999 and 2008, respectively, two of India’s highest civilian awards A few hours after the end of his last match in November 2013, the Prime Minister’s Office announced the decision to award him the most prestigious Bharat Ratna India’s highest civilian award. As of 2021, he is the youngest recipient to date and was the first sportsperson to receive the award.In 2012, Tendulkar was nominated to the Rajya, Sabha the upper house of the Parliament of India. In 2010 Time magazine included Tendulkar in its annual Time 100, list as one of the most influential people in the world.
Tendulkar was awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for cricketer of the year. Having retired from ODI cricket in 2012, he retired from all forms of cricket in November 2013 after playing his two hundreth test. Tendulkar played 664 international cricket matches in total, scoring 34,357 runs.
In 2013, Tendulkar was included in an all-time Test World XI compiled in 2013 to mark the 150th anniversary of Wisden Cricketers Aldemek and he was only batsman of post war era along with Vivian Richards to get featured in the team.
In 2019 he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
