1,088 farmers committed suicide in the year 2023 in eight districts of the Marathwada region

According to the report of the Divisional Commissioner’s office, the cases of farmer suicides in Marathwada are 65 more than in 2022. Interestingly, the highest number of 269 farmers committed suicide in Beed district of Marathwada division. This is the home district of Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde. 182 farmer suicides were recorded in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 175 in Nanded, 171 in Dharashiv and 103 in Parbhani. Jalna, Latur and Hingoli reported 74, 72 and 42 such deaths respectively. In Marathwada, 1,023 farmer suicides were reported in 2022.

उत्तराखंड के पत्रकार अजीत राठी के ट्वीट के मुताबिक महाराष्ट्र के मराठवाड़ा से किसानों को लेकर चिंताजनक रिपोर्ट आई है.
वर्ष 2023 में मराठवाड़ा क्षेत्र के आठ जिलों में लगभग 1,088 किसानों ने आत्महत्या की। संभागीय आयुक्त कार्यालय की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, मराठवाड़ा में किसान आत्महत्या के मामले 2022 की तुलना में 65 अधिक हैं। दिलचस्प बात यह है कि मराठवाड़ा संभाग के बीड जिले में सबसे अधिक 269 किसानों ने आत्महत्या की।
यह महाराष्ट्र के कृषि मंत्री धनंजय मुंडे का गृह जिला है. छत्रपति संभाजीनगर में 182, नांदेड़ में 175, धाराशिव में 171 और परभणी में 103 किसानों की आत्महत्याएं दर्ज की गईं। जालना, लातूर और हिंगोली में क्रमशः 74, 72 और 42 ऐसी मौतें हुईं। मराठवाड़ा में 2022 में 1,023 किसानों की आत्महत्या की सूचना मिली।
