A sea of ​​employees gathered in Karnaprayag, demanding the restoration of the old pension

Thousands of officers, employees, and teachers from various districts of the state participated in the “Pension Hunkar Maha Rally” held in Karnaprayag today, at the call of the National Old Pension Restoration Joint Front, Uttarakhand, and strongly raised the demand for the restoration of the old pension.

The presence of the large crowd sent the message that the working class is completely united on the issue of their future and social security.

Addressing the rally, State President Manoj Awasthi stated that the old pension is not a privilege but the basis for the security of employees’ lives. He said that employees contribute to nation-building with complete loyalty and dedication during their service, and therefore, they should have the right to a respectable and secure life after retirement.

He urged the government to take a positive decision on the employees’ long-standing demand.

State in-charge Vikram Singh Rawat said that this mega rally held on the historic land of Karnaprayag has proven that the employee movement for the restoration of the old pension is steadily growing stronger. He said that this struggle will continue until the employees receive their rights.

Patron and President of the Garhwal Division of the State Teachers’ Organization, Jaideep Rawat, said that teachers and employees are the backbone of society. If their future is not secure, the system cannot remain strong. He said that restoring the old pension system is a matter related to the respect, security, and self-confidence of employees, and the government should take a serious decision on this issue.
State Vice President Puran Farswan said that the new pension system pushes employees toward financial insecurity after retirement. The old pension system guarantees social security and strengthens employees’ self-confidence. He called on all employees to further strengthen the movement.
Garhwal Division President Shankar Bhatt said that today’s unprecedented turnout demonstrates that Uttarakhand’s workforce is fully committed to the restoration of the old pension system. He said that this movement is for a secure future for millions of employees and their families.
The employees, officers, and teachers present at the rally unanimously reiterated their demand for the restoration of the old pension system and urged the government to take a swift decision. During the event, the employees demonstrated the organization’s unity, discipline, and spirit of struggle.
