Heartwrenching tragedy : Bolero plunged into a 500 metre deep gorge, three brothers killed among total seven

Seven people died in a tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district. Three brothers are said to be among the deceased.

In Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district, a vehicle carrying people returning from a mundan ceremony fell into a deep gorge. Seven people died on the spot in the accident. Three of the deceased are said to be brothers. The accident occurred on Wednesday night on the Pukhri-Masrund road.

It is being reported that the Bolero vehicle went out of control and fell into a 500-meter-deep ditch. The Bolero was completely destroyed in the accident. All the deceased are said to be from Mahal village. They were returning home after attending a Mundan ceremony in Kakadotha village. After receiving information about the incident, people pulled the bodies from the ditch, and then the police also reached the spot.
Local people say that there were no crash barriers on the roadside. If there had been crash barriers, these people’s lives could have been saved.

Giving details of the accident, Chamba Superintendent of Police Vijay Saklani said that all the bodies have been recovered from the ditch. The deceased are being identified. The accident occurred near Chhatrund on the Chamba-Masrund road. The deceased include three women and three men. They were returning home in a Bolero car after attending a mundan ceremony.
The deceased were identified as Chunni Lal (65), Devi Lal (62), Babli Devi, wife of Moti Ram (45), Moti Ram (50), Anita Kumari (20), Kunta Devi (53), and Manohar Lal (34). Chunni Lal, Devi Lal, and Moti Ram were brothers.
